Midstream Industry in North America: Logistics, Markets and Economics

This seminar provides the basic framework in which to understand the operations and economics of the midstream industry in the U.S. and Canada.  Midstream operations include gathering and transporting natural gas production through gas gathering pipeline systems.  Midstream operations at the gas plant level  include gas conditioning (sulfur and acid gas removal) for sour gas and NGL recovery.  Gas plants recovery natural gas liquids to enable gas production to meet gas pipeline quality specifications and for economic reasons.  From the gas plant, Midstream operations involve transportation of NGL mixtures (raw mix) to central supply hubs for fractionation and storage.  After NGL mixtures have been fractionated, midstream companies market and sell components to petrochemical companies, refineries, and into the various retail propane markets.
